May 29, 2025

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the launch of a new Speech Therapy service line and welcomes Brandy White, MCD-CCC SLP, as Director of Speech Therapy.
With more than 22 years in the field, Brandy White brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for helping others. A lifelong Hartsville resident, she is proud to serve the community she’s always called home – offering care, support, and connection to patients and families throughout every stage of life.
“We are excited to expand our care offerings to include speech therapy, especially with someone as skilled and community-minded as Brandy,” said Brian Sponseller, Chief Medical Officer at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center. “This new service will allow patients to receive comprehensive, high-quality therapy close to home.”
Brandy earned her undergraduate degree in Speech Language Pathology from Columbia College and her Master’s +30 in Communication Disorders from the University of South Carolina. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings - including outpatient clinics, public schools, and skilled nursing facilities - where she served as Director of Rehabilitation for six years.
As Director of Speech Therapy at Carolina Pines, Brandy will provide inpatient and outpatient services for patients ranging from infants to seniors. She specializes in treating speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders, with particular interest in stroke recovery, dementia-related communication needs, and pediatric speech-language impairments, including Autism. She is also certified in VitalStim therapy, a technique used to enhance muscle activation in patients with swallowing disorders.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to pour back into the community I’ve been a part of since birth,” said White. “Whether it’s helping a patient enjoy their favorite food again or giving a child and parent the tools to bond through communication – it’s all incredibly rewarding that I get to do it in the town that raised me.”
Brandy is now accepting outpatient referrals. Patients interested in Speech Therapy services should schedule an appointment with their primary care provider to request a referral.
