Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center Nurses Receive 2024 Palmetto Gold Award

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center (CPRMC) is proud to announce that 5 outstanding CPRMC nurses have been awarded the prestigious Palmetto Gold Award.
Every year, Palmetto Gold selects nurses through a nomination and selection process that includes nurses from diverse practice settings across South Carolina. Each recipient contributes to the advancement of the nursing profession, exhibiting compassion and dedication towards patients, families, student nurses, and peers. They demonstrate leadership, support others in their professional growth, and actively engage in civic and community initiatives to promote nursing.
Palmetto Gold was initiated in 2002 by a coalition of nursing leaders in South Carolina, with the goal of creating a statewide nursing recognition program. This program aimed to highlight the invaluable contributions nurses make to patient care while also raising funds to support scholarships.
A team of six nurses from across the state review nominations blindly, without knowing the nominees' names or workplaces. The selection process is highly competitive, with hundreds of nominations coming in each year vying for only 100 spots. We are proud that this year, 5 out of the 100 recognized were Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center nurses.
The five CPRMC nurses that received the 2024 Palmetto Gold recognition include:
Storm Beasley, RN; Karen Butler, RN, BSN, WCC, OMS, a-IPC; Jennifer Jones, BSN, RN, CCRN; Laurie Jones, BSN, RN-BC; and Ginger Yengel, RN.

The recipients will be recognized at the 21st Annual Palmetto Gold Gala on April 27 in Columbia, SC.
