Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center Welcomes Dr. Ravali Tarigopula to Lead New Carolina Pines Medical Group Pulmonology Practice
Dr. Ravali Tarigopula to Lead New Carolina Pines Medical Group Pulmonology Practice
Hartsville, SC (June 3, 2026) - Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center (CPRMC) is proud to announce the launch of Carolina Pines Medical Group Pulmonology, a new specialty service that will bring much-needed lung and sleep care closer to home for patients across our community. Leading the practice will be Ravali Tarigopula, M.D., a board-certified physician specializing in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Tarigopula (Dr. Tari) has been caring for patients since 2014 and brings extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of respiratory and sleep-related conditions.
Her care includes conditions such as COPD, asthma, chronic cough, shortness of breath, sleep apnea, insomnia, pulmonary fibrosis, and lung infections, along with other disorders affecting the lungs and breathing. She focuses on getting to the root of symptoms, helping patients manage chronic conditions, and improving overall quality of life so they can breathe and rest more comfortably.
As Carolina Pines continues to grow and evolve alongside the communities it serves, the addition of Pulmonology represents an important investment in local healthcare. Patients who once traveled outside the area for specialized lung and sleep care will now have access to those services closer to home.
"One of our goals at Carolina Pines is to continue bringing the services our community needs closer to home," said Dr. Brian Sponseller, CEO of CPRMC. "For many patients, accessing pulmonology care has meant traveling outside the area. Bringing this specialty to Hartsville makes it easier for patients to receive the expert care they need while staying close to home and close to the people who support them. We're thrilled to welcome Dr. Tari and look forward to the difference she'll make in the lives of our patients and families."
Dr. Tari completed her Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, where she served as Chief Fellow. She later completed a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, also serving as Chief Fellow. Earlier in her training, she was named Chief Resident during her Internal Medicine residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey.
She earned her medical degree from Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College in Gulbarga, India, and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. Throughout her career, she has emphasized patient-centered care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the delivery of advanced respiratory and critical care services.
Dr. Ravali Tarigopula is now welcoming new patients at Carolina Pines Medical Group Pulmonology and looks forward to building relationships with patients and families throughout Hartsville and the surrounding communities.
