The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Heart Failure Certification
The certification recognizes healthcare organizations that provide clinical programs across the continuum of care for heart failure. The certification evaluates how organizations use clinical outcomes and performance measures to identify opportunities to improve care, as well as to educate and prepare patients and their caregivers for discharge.
The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement
The advanced certification is for Joint Commission-accredited hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers seeking to elevate the quality, consistency and safety of their services and patient care.
Primary Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission
Primary Stroke Center Certification recognizes those hospitals that have state-of-the-art infrastructure, staff and training to receive and treat patients with the most complex strokes, including advanced imaging capabilities, 24/7 availability of specialized treatments, and staff with the unique education and competencies to care for complex stroke patients.

This award demonstrates the hospital’s commitment to the highest-quality safety and care of patients, and recognizes compliance with The Joint Commission’s strict national standards.
American Heart Association's Gold Plus Get With The Guidelines Stroke Quality Achievement Award
Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center has received the American Heart Association’s Gold Plus Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke quality achievement award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.
Carolina Pines also received the American Heart Association’s Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll StrokeSM award. To qualify for this recognition, hospitals must meet specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster alteplase.
In addition, Carolina Pines received the American Heart Association’s Target: Type 2 Honor Roll award. Target: Type 2 Diabetes aims to ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes, who might be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.
Accredited Chest Pain Center
Carolina Pines is a Chest Pain Accredited Facility. We have received our accreditation from the American College of Cardiology. We have the capabilities for EMS to transmit EKGs to our Emergency Department from the field. This ability helps us to be able to diagnose and treat life-threatening cardiac conditions more quickly, such as a heart attack.
Blue Distinction Center Maternity
Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center has been recognized by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina for showing expertise in delivering safer, more efficient and improved health outcomes. To receive a Blue Distinction Centers for Maternity Care designation, a health care facility must collect race ethnicity data, have a maternal quality improvement program, and commence drills and simulations for adverse events. In addition, it must meet clinical outcome metrics at an even higher standard than the program’s last designation cycle.

The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accredits imaging facilities and hospitals specific to vascular testing. Carolina Pines has evaluated and demonstrated the level of patient care we can provide vascular patients.
