Family Medicine Residency Program

The Family Medicine Residency Program at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center offers a unique opportunity to train in a close-knit rural community hospital while benefiting from the academic strength and resources of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Regional Health Network. As a three-year residency program within an ACGME-accredited sponsoring institution for Graduate Medical Education, we prepare future family physicians through comprehensive, evidence-based training that emphasizes clinical excellence, compassionate care, and meaningful relationships with the patients and communities they serve.

If you're looking for a residency program where you'll be challenged, supported, and inspired to make a meaningful difference, we invite you to discover what makes the Carolina Pines Family Medicine Residency Program a unique place to learn, grow, and serve.

Program Mission

The Family Medicine program at Carolina Pines utilizes local resources in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina and those of the broader MUSC network to prepare the next generation of family physicians with the knowledge, skills, systems, and habits to deliver full-spectrum, evidence-based, and compassionate care across all stages of life. Graduates will be well prepared to serve in rural and medically under-resourced communities and to lead efforts that improve health, access, and continuity of care for the people of South Carolina.
