Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center Welcomes New Provider, Dr. Leah Anderson
Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center (CPRMC) is proud to welcome Leah Anderson, MD, to Carolina Pines Medical Group. Board-certified in family medicine and fellowship-trained in surgical obstetrics, Dr. Anderson provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, including infants.
Dr. Anderson’s broad scope of care allows her to support patients and families through every stage of life. Her services include preventive and routine care, chronic condition management, women’s health, family planning, prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn, infant and pediatric care.
Dr. Anderson brings more than seven years of experience in family medicine with obstetrics. Most recently, she served as Physician Leader of Ashe Women & Children’s Health Clinic at Ashe Memorial Hospital in North Carolina, caring for patients in both clinic and hospital settings. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, before completing her Family Medicine Residency and a fellowship in Surgical Obstetrics at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.
Her approach to care is centered on listening, communicating openly and building relationships grounded in honesty, empathy and trust.
“What I love most about family medicine with obstetrics is the opportunity to care for patients through every stage of life,” said Dr. Anderson. “My goal is to build lasting relationships with patients and families - from pregnancy and birth through childhood, adulthood and their later years. That continuity is what makes this work so meaningful to me.”
Dr. Anderson also brings a passion for teaching. She previously served as a preceptor and mentor for third- and fourth-year medical students and looks forward to being involved with CPRMC’s upcoming Family Medicine Residency Program, which is scheduled to begin in June 2027.
“Dr. Anderson brings a special kind of continuity to our community - the ability to care for a mother during pregnancy, deliver her baby and then continue caring for both of them for years to come,” said Dr. Brian Sponseller, CEO of CPRMC. “That is the heart of family medicine: care that is personal, connected and built on trust. Her experience as an educator will also be invaluable to our upcoming Family Medicine Residency Program.”
Outside of work, Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. As a family, they enjoy camping, boating, fishing, soccer and being outdoors. She also enjoys baking sourdough bread, reading, traveling and serving through her church and local scouting programs.
