Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center CEO Dr. Brian Sponseller Named to Becker's 2026 "Community Hospital CEOs to Know" List

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center (CPRMC) is proud to announce that Dr. Brian Sponseller, CEO has been recognized by Becker's Hospital Review as one of its "Community Hospital CEOs to Know" for 2026. The national recognition honors leaders who are driving innovation, expanding access to care, strengthening workforce culture and improving the health of the communities they serve. 

The 2026 list recognizes 240 community hospital CEOs from across the country who are leading organizations through strategic growth while ensuring high-quality, accessible healthcare for their communities. According to Becker's, these leaders are developing and executing strategies that elevate quality, expand service lines and position their hospitals for long-term success.

Dr. Sponseller is in his second year as CEO after previously serving as Carolina Pines' Chief Medical Officer. He leads the 116-bed acute care hospital and its employed multi-specialty medical group, overseeing more than 700 associates and medical staff while guiding the organization's strategic, operational and clinical initiatives. 

Under Dr. Sponseller's leadership, Carolina Pines has continued to expand access to specialty care, invest in advanced technology and strengthen its commitment to quality and patient safety. Recent accomplishments include being named one of Becker's "Great Community Hospitals," maintaining eight consecutive "A" Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group, earning Leapfrog's prestigious Top General Hospital designation for two consecutive years, becoming the first hospital in South Carolina to achieve The Joint Commission's Sepsis Certification, and receiving ScionHealth's Platinum National Quality Strategy Award for the third consecutive year.
