April Winburn Named Director of the Quarter

We are proud to announce that April Winburn, Director of Quality & Regulatory Compliance has been named Outstanding Manager for the 2nd Quarter of 2023.
April attended Central Carolina in Sumter, SC and graduated with a Degree in Applied Science/Nursing in 2006. She began her career at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center that same year. She continued her education and received her BSN from USC in 2012. During her 17 years with Carolina Pines, April has worked as a Staff Nurse in Patient First Assessment and Emergency Services. She also held the position as a Quality Analyst and Clinical Abstractor. Then in November of 2019, she was promoted to her current position, Director of Quality & Regulatory Compliance. Her training and experience with Blue Cross Blue Shield has helped her to be a vital part of the ongoing and ever changing challenges in her current role!
April has easily earned the respect of all her co-workers, medical staff, and administration. She is always kind, professional, and willing to go that extra mile for the good of the hospital. A fellow co-worker stated, “If only everyone knew and could understand the importance of April’s job and how it benefits our hospital and community.” Her dedication and hard work has played a huge part in getting the high scores and accreditations that our hospital receives. She’s a quick study and has been known to “know her stuff,” and she’s always willing to share her knowledge with anyone who comes to her.
Her team is appreciative of her leadership and guidance. She is always there for support, encouragement, and a positive reinforcement when her team needs in most. Outside of work, April loves tennis, a good road trip, and spending time with her son who she adores!
