Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center Welcomes New Primary Care Provider, Cody Kidd, D.O.
HARTSVILLE, South Carolina (July 25, 2025) – Carolina Pines Medical Group (CPMG), the physicians’ group and care clinics affiliated with Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center (CPRMC), is excited to announce the addition of Cody Kidd, D.O., to its Primary Care practice. Dr. Kidd will begin seeing patients on August 4 at CPMG’s Hartsville location, 701 Medical Park Drive, Suite 207.
Dr. Kidd recently completed his three-year residency in the McLeod Family Medicine Rural Residency Program at McLeod Health Cheraw. His experience covered the gamut of primary care services, from sutures to injections to hospital bedside procedures. He is well-versed in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, a hands-on approach used by Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.s) to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury.
“We are excited to add Dr. Kidd to the Carolina Pines team and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our patients,” said Dr. Brian Sponseller, Chief Medical Officer and Interim CEO at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center. “Dr. Kidd is eager to begin his practice at Carolina Pines and develop relationships with patients in need of a provider dedicated to their health and well-being. He brings enthusiasm and fresh perspective to our strong team of clinicians.”
A native of Knoxville, TN, Dr. Kidd earned a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Maryville College before earning his Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2022. While “shadowing” doctors in med school, Dr. Kidd discovered the specialty he wanted to practice.
“I went into medical school not knowing what I wanted to be,” Dr. Kidd recalled. “After shadowing multiple Family physicians in my third year of medical school and seeing the relationships they built with their patients, I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. All the specialists I followed obviously cared a great deal for their patients, but the relationship between patients and their Family Physician was special and unique.”
At Carolina Pines, he will see patients at the clinic and also treat patients at the hospital, an arrangement he is looking forward to.
