Specialized Treatment for Enlarged Prostates

Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) is a highly effective, minimally invasive treatment for men suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate. BPH is a common condition affecting aging men and can lead to bothersome urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty starting or maintaining urine flow, nighttime urination, and incomplete bladder emptying. Left untreated, BPH can significantly affect quality of life and may lead to additional complications.

HoLEP is considered one of the most effective surgical treatments for BPH. Using a specialized holmium laser, the surgeon precisely removes the obstructive prostate tissue that is blocking urine flow. The procedure allows for the complete removal of the enlarged tissue while minimizing damage to surrounding structures. Compared to traditional prostate surgeries, HoLEP offers several important benefits, including:

  • Minimally invasive approach
  • Reduced bleeding risk
  • Shorter hospital stays
  • Faster recovery time
  • Long-lasting symptom relief
  • Effective treatment for even very large prostates

Because the procedure is performed endoscopically through the natural urinary passage, patients typically experience less discomfort and a quicker return to normal activities than with older surgical techniques. For more details, click here.
