HARTSVILLE, South Carolina (August 7, 2025) - Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center (CPRMC) has been honored with two major American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® achievement awards, recognizing its commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients facing heart disease and stroke.

These recognitions reflect the dedication of CPRMC’s physicians, nurses, and care teams to follow the most up-to-date clinical guidelines - leading to better outcomes, quicker recoveries, and fewer hospital readmissions for patients in the Hartsville community and beyond.

“Heart disease and stroke continue to be leading causes of death in the U.S., and we see the impact of that right here at home,” said Christy Moody, Chief Nursing Officer at CPRMC. “That’s why it’s so important that we provide care that’s not only compassionate, but also backed by the latest research. Our teams work hard every day to make sure patients get the best care possible, as quickly as possible.”

The Get With The Guidelines® initiative helps hospitals across the country improve outcomes by putting the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s trusted, research-based guidelines into practice. CPRMC earned these awards by consistently demonstrating its commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

This year, Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center received the following achievement awards:

  • Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll
  • Heart Failure Gold Plus with Target: Heart Failure Optimal and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll

“These awards show Carolina Pines’ commitment to caring for those in their community who need cardiovascular care,” said Donald Lloyd-Jones, past volunteer president of the American Heart Association and current volunteer chair of the Association’s Quality Oversight Committee. “By following the American Heart Association’s quality improvement protocols, Carolina Pines can help realize our shared vision of improved patient outcomes, fewer readmissions and lower mortality rates - a win for health care systems, families and communities.”

“These awards are a testament to the passion our team brings to caring for our neighbors,” says Moody. “We’re proud to be a part of a hospital that truly puts the health of our community first.”
