Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center Conducts Hospital Ministry Training

HARTSVILLE, SC (June 6, 2012) — On Friday, June 1st, Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center held “An Introduction to Hospital Ministry” training for approximately 25 local pastors and laity leaders. The facilitator was Reverend Larry Pope, Health Management Associates Corporate Chaplain.

Topics discussed included understanding the difference between clergy and hospital chaplains, routine visits, the role of HIPAA (patient privacy) and the importance of infection control. A follow-up session will be held on July 13th.
