Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center (CPRMC) is a 116-bed JCAHO accredited acute care hospital. Our new facility opened in May of 1999 to replace Byerly Hospital, which was founded in the late 1920’s. We are proud to offer the latest medical technology in a comfortable, caring environment. Why Hartsville?

Hartsville, South Carolina, located in Darlington County, is not a typical small town. The Greater Hartsville area has a population of approximately 30,000 while CPRMC’s service area includes approximately 100,000 residents. In addition to a state-of-the-art medical facility, Hartsville is home to Sonoco Products Company’s worldwide headquarters. Coker College – ranked among the top five Best Comprehensive Colleges in the South by US News and World Report – offers four year degrees in many disciplines and serves as a focal point of cultural activities in downtown Hartsville. The Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Performing Arts Center on the college campus hosts a number of professional musical, dance and theater productions throughout the year. The Hartsville Family YMCA is unrivaled in towns our size. More than 5,000 members strong, the YMCA offers an extensive list of athletic activities as well as childcare services for its members. Also located in Hartsville is the Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics. This is only one of the two Governor’s schools in the state of South Carolina.
 
Highly competitive schools are balanced by the availability of private institutions such as Thomas Hart Academy, Emmanuel Baptist and Trinity Collegiate School.

Hartsville is also conveniently located an easy one and one-half hour drive from Myrtle Beach and Columbia, SC as well as Charlotte, NC. Charleston, South Carolina is only two and one-half hours away.
