General Information
Our 116-bed hospital and medical campus provide complete, comprehensive health services designed with two things in mind-the care and comfort of our patients. Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center offers the latest laboratory technology, advanced diagnostic imaging equipment, a 12-bed intensive care unit, a dedicated women's center, a pediatric wing and a state-of-the-art emergency department. We have large patient rooms with private bathrooms, telephones and televisions, as well as spacious waiting areas for family and friends.
Built on approximately 34 acres, the 197,000 square foot $25 million hospital and medical campus opened in May 1999. Conveniently located on SC Highway 151, a half of a mile west of 14th Street in Hartsville, Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center serves the four surrounding counties of Chesterfield, Darlington, Lee and Marlboro.
The 45,000 square foot Medical Office Building is located adjacent to the hospital at 701 Medical Park Drive and connects to the hospital allowing easy access for patients, visitors, physicians and staff. Carolina Pines Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, CPRMC Cardiac Rehabilitation Department and numerous physician offices are conveniently located in the Medical Office Building.
Emergency Department
The hospital's Emergency Department offers a fully equipped and staffed Level III Trauma Center 24 hours a day. The latest technology for the treatment of medical, cardiac and trauma situations ensures that patients receive a higher medical standard of care. Our "Nurse First" program provides a nurse trained in emergency care, to see patients within moments of their arrival.
Stork's Landing Maternity Center
The Stork's Landing Maternity Center provides comprehensive women's services designed to make your birth experience all that you expected. The Stork's Landing Women's Center has six decorative, home-like LDR (Labor, Delivery and Recovery) suites with private baths and Jacuzzis. Other features include: full-service lactation consultants on staff; a Daddy's Beeper program; staff cross-trained in labor nursing; mother-baby nursing and women's surgery; an infant security system; and board certified obstetricians/gynecologists, pediatricians, family practitioners and mid-wife services. Epidural anesthesia is provided on a 24-hour basis. Level I and Level II nurseries provide specialty care for infants. Child Birth Classes are provided to inform you about the labor and delivery process, labor controlling breathing techniques, pain management and breast feeding.
Diagnostic Imaging Department
The hospital's state-of-the-art Diagnostic Imaging Department offers sophisticated diagnostic tools to help identify illnesses. Among the mechanisms used: CT scanning, MRI, Cardiac Catheterization, Ultrasound, conventional x-ray, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine with cardiac capabilities, Angiography and Bone Desitometry.
Carolina Pines Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center
Carolina Pines Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center offers physical therapy, industrial rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation and sports medicine. Programs return patients to normal function or assist them in adapting to diminished function, decreased pain and discomfort and educate family members and other caregivers. A physician's referral is required to receive outpatient therapy services. The staff serves as the official athletic trainers for Coker College and are very involved with local athletics through a high school outreach program.
Joint Commission (JC)
This notice serves to alert the community that Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center will undergo an unannounced accreditation survey by the Joint Commission at any time. Any individual who has concerns about patient care and safety in this hospital is encouraged to contact the hospital's administration at 339-4120. If your concern cannot be resolved through the hospital process, then the individual has the right to contact the Joint Commission and request an interview to address your concerns.
